Rex at Corvallis Christmas Parade 2002

The Corvallis Winter parade is well attended these days by Kinetic Sculpture people. In addition to the usuals, Rex and Mona Fly (originally the Tomato), we also got Maltese Fulcrum and Class Act plus a bunch of students on bikes from the high schools. Again the daVinci Days organization sponsored us all.

Dave and I piloted Rex in the parade. We recruited a young boy to ride as a barnacle. He was the son of one of the Fulcrum women. Abe was there, but decided to ride his bike during the parade.

The pictures are taken with ambient light at 1600 ASA. I used a Pentax Spotamatic II at 1/15 second and f1.8.

The weather was beautiful: dry and not very cold.

Rex Rex decorated with lights. I know its dark. That's me standing next to Rex.
Students Mostly high school students with a fire provided by Maltese Fulcrum.
CCT Corvallis Community Theature group wearing costumes from Little Shop of Horror
Girl Scouts The Girl Scout group is always very alive and cheerful.
Towing Santa Clever use of a tow truck to tow Santa.
Elvis You can't really tell in this picture, but our Elvis Imitator is covered with lights.
