This year I was sick during most of the race. So I only saw a couple of hours of the festivities. And even then I wasn't totally there. Fortunately my team carried on without me. Heck, they did better that way. Maybe I should just stay out of their way!

Edward filled in as photographer for much of the time. I only took a few of the pictures featured here.

Art and Pagentry Judging -- July 18

Dave made an incredible song, complete with an instrumental sound track. I could not do it justice with a description. You will just have to imagine.

		Leonardo Da Ant is new for this year. Beth adopted and has fixed up Parkie.
Meta-Moth-Isis is the post-pupal form of the WinchWorm from last year.
	Tom goes screaming past in I Scream. The Counterfeit Bluesmobile is owned by Elliot, but was raced by several other people.

Biking Vikings is an extravagant creation of Dwayne Flatmo.
		Mona Lisa is a one wheeled creation that is new this year.
	Fungi [left] is actually old, having been created in the mid 90s. It sat in the Kinetic Museum in Ferndale for years. I think this is the first time it raced Corvallis. Kinetic Kops [right] are a tradition imported from Port Townsend.

The Road and Sand Race -- July 19

	This palmtree has shown up for a couple of years now. It can't really race, but it can parade. Fifinix has been around forever in one form or another. Fifi is sponsored by the food cooperative in Arcata California.
	On the left is Meta-Moth-Isis. I don't know the name of the vehicle on the right.
This is Jerry in Run To Bride. And she is. At the Sand Pile, she and Peter got married.
	From Port Townsend comes Hopness Monster [left]. I think the one on the right is called Godzilla.
		Notice the change of tires between these two pictures and the next three. The KangaRex team has made a conversion for sand.
Run-A-Fowl almost tipped going down the sand. It's pretty steep there. Bob's son was driving, and he doesn't have as much experience.

The Mud and River Race -- July 20

All mud pictures are provided by Anne Kelley. I understand it was difficult; only 1/3 of the sculptures made it thru. But Dave and Anna succeeded!

Next it was on to the River.

I decided to ride the Spinner down the river ahead of KangaRex. Since the Spinner is so much slower than KangaRex, I needed a good head start. The pictures that follow were taken from within the Spinner.

Alas, the prop shaft on KangaRex broke when they entered the water. That took KangaRex from the fastest sculpture down to among the slowest. Dave and Anna used the oars as paddles, but that is no substitute for a propeller. And it is much more tiring. Anna was sore for days. In the words of Dave "Anna was La Magnifica!"

		KangaRex is being held from rolling back into the water. Since the pit crew isn't helping KangaRed move forward, this is not cheating.

After the Race

I was still under the weather from my cold. And Dave was too tired. Fortunately Anna was up for giving a few rides in KangaRex. People also rode the Spinner.

	Anna shows the broken prop shaft [left] and her first Leo award [right]. We don't know who made those glass Leos, but they are lovely.
