Construction and Improvements to The Rex Files in 2000

OMSI Robotics Exhibit.

OK, this wasn't related to daVinci's Birthday. But it was education related. And it was inspirational for the kids on the Rex team.

We visited OMSI because they were giving a presentation on robotics.

Here Valeria is learning to manipulate a robot arm. This machine seemed to be specifically designed to be difficult to use. But it sure looked imposing.

Giancarlo tries to tie shoes using pliers. This is to develop appreciation for the difficulty of doing fine motor skills with no sense of touch. I guess the point is that robots really need a sense of touch.

Soldering/Brazing class

I offered a class in Soldering and Brazing to the kids on the team.

Construction Meeting

We welcomed more new talent this year.

	Alien Orthodontists at work. We're not serious all the time. That's Giancarlo and Daniel with the newly finished jaws.
	Here's The Rex Files emulating the Cheshire Cat
	Kevin is picking cherries in my back yard. His mom, Amy, is using an unusual method to support the lad. That doesn't look very comfortable to me. But the cherries were outstanding.
	Julianna's Mom came down from Gig Harbor, Washington to help us out.
	Julianna sewed. Believe it or not, that is my kitchen table she is working on. It got messier and messier. It wasn't until a week after daVinci Days that I was able to clean it. Made eating dinner a challenge.
